Who We Are

Immuneel is pioneering cell and gene therapies such as Chimeric Antigen Receptor T cell therapy (CAR-T cell therapy) in India. CAR-T cell therapies use genetically modified human immune cells to fight cancer.

Prof. Bruce Levine

Ph.D.

A co-inventor of the first FDA approved gene therapy, Prof. Levine has conducted first in-human adoptive immunotherapy trials using CAR-T cells, the first infusions of gene edited cells, the first human use of a lentiviral vector for gene delivery, and the first use of lentivirus modified cells to treat cancer. Prof. Levine holds 27 US patents. He has authored and co-authored >180 manuscripts and book chapters with a Google Scholar citation h-index of 85.

Prof. Carl June

MD

Immunotherapy pioneer and career immunologist. Dr. June is credited with the development of T-cell therapy for cancer (CAR-T). He has published more than 350 manuscripts. He presently leads research in the mechanisms of lymphocyte activation relating to immune tolerance and adoptive immunotherapy for cancer and chronic infection. He has been honored with Dan David Prize Laureate in 2021 , Elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 2020, Elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2014, and Elected to the Institute of Medicine in 2012.

Dr Noopur Raje

MD

A translational researcher, Dr. Raje is an authority in the field of multiple myeloma having published extensively towards its research. A member of numerous cancer societies and a reviewer for several scientific journals. Dr. Raje consults with leading pharma companies. She presently leads research in understanding the biology and treatment of multiple myeloma with novel therapeutics. She has been honored with the Claflin Distinguished Scholar Award and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Clinical Scholar Award.

Vijay Chiruvolu

Ph.D., MBA

A seasoned technical leader with extensive experience in development and manufacturing of recombinant proteins, monoclonal antibodies, gene and cell therapy products. More than 2 decades of leadership responsibilities across various positions in process development, manufacturing and quality at organizations – Scios, Avigen, Hoffmann-La Roche, Johnson & Johnson, Amgen and Kite (a Gilead company). He has been honored as Member of PDA ATMP Advisory Board, Member of PDA Bio Advisory Board and PDA Process Validation Interest Group Leader.

Bala S. Manian

Ph.D.

For four prolific decades, this Silicon Valley member and innovator has founded thriving companies in life science, biotech, and medical technology. Leadership roles at Digital Optics, Quantum Dot Corporation, and SurroMed underline their impact. With expertise in electro-optical systems, they've driven commercial successes, amassing 50+ patents and earning recognition as an innovator and mentor. A 1999 Technical Academy Award recipient, they hold board positions at Equillium Bio and Vaccinex, solidifying their industry influence.
